Potions and spells
Watched a bit of Charmed during a recent flight. They were making some potion to destroy some demon. And as usual, they would have some spell to recite.
I don't know any of that *.*
All the magical things I've done as a witch are due to the ability, of a witch, to utilise energy. So in fact I wouldn't say I do "magic", since it could be explained by science, albeit a strange field of it.
But throwing potions on people and things, reciting some odd poems, how do they summon the necessary energy? Perhaps words could direct the will power to gather the energy required. But potions? Unless I could lock sufficient energy in the potion.. I don't know how. I don't even know if it actually works. I'm a novice witch, and the only witch I know.
Perhaps it's time to try to find another. I'll figure out how.
There is no broom
I prefer a vacuum cleaner. To clean the house, mind you, not fly.
Magic doesn't keep you from falling ill
That's a fact, a most irritating fact.
*sneeze*
It was drizzling a little yesterday and I was just 5-10min from my bus stop so thought I would just walk faster since brolly was a hassle. (Nop, no magic in public places!)
Woke with a running nose this very morning =(
I console myself that at least I could make the runny stuff disappear (into a bit of tissue) the moment it's produced so I don't get a red nose from all that rubbing. But I'm still feeling ill.. Think I'll make myself sleep after writing this - not with magic cos I can sleep anytime, anywhere :p
Sighs, witches are, after all, human beings, except that they have extraordinary will to execute extraodinary things..
Something new
Finally succeeded in making my dishes wash themselves, a difficult task for a novice witch:
1) latter soap in basin
2) dishes go in one by one - broke a few in the beginning when I dropped
3) sponge off the grime and food stain - tough one, need to discern between easy and hard cos I don't want to waste energy (kiv this word, energy)
4) rinse off - when will it be soap free?
5) put on drying rack - another hard nut, different slots for different dishes
6) clean up the basin area - relatively easier but it took me a while before I stop splashing water down the side of the basin
All in all, this skill took me almost three weeks to learn, mostly due to steps 3-5, and that I don't cook every day. Also had to change the tap to make it easier to open and close - again, less energy used.
Am learning a couple other things too, updates later..
Coming out, albeit anonymously
Acquired a new hobby that is reading. Or should I say I'm re-acquainted with this sedentary activity lately, having been a rather fervent reader - fiction, I should add - in my school days. Current read is Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I've read the other five before but this time, it's different.
You see, I read the first five books as a, well, normal girl. For the sixth, it's still the same old me who's reading it, but there's just this additional knowledge that - plainly cos there's no other way to put it - I'm a witch.
No you didn't read that wrongly - I am a witch, a real-life witch in the 21st century!
Perhaps you may think now that I am the real thing, HP is no longer exciting. In actual fact, I'm still mesmerised by Rowling's fictitious magic cos the reality just doesn't seem as exciting as with the witches and wizards in the world revolving around Hogwarts. Fun, yes; exciting, no..
See, I'm doing ordinary things, like blogging! Except that my fingers are not typing; my keyboard types itself, leaving my hands free to apply my assortment of creams and lotions before I sleep. Cool right? Saves my manicure, which happens to be fresh every day and changes colour to match my attire. But not that it matters since I can easily patch everything together. And I think my skill in patching manicures is quite well-honed after such a short period of practice.. I must be a natural..
Anyway, I've decided to share my life with you ordinary folks (sorry, I don't know any special term for you but I'll use "muggles" since everyone should be familiar with it) from today, and introduce you muggles :) to the real world of wizardry..
